Sometimes fun, sometimes mawkish and slobbering tribute to Great Britain by the often entertaining Bryson. I enjoyed the book 75% of the time but this is far from my favorite of his. He mixes memoir and travelogue telling the tales of his walk around Britain right as he prepares to leave it after 20 years for life in the United States with his young family. I listened to this on audio and it was hard to get used to the British vernacular and expressions coming out of an American-accented speaker but he did a fine job narrating his story. I think I'll stick with A WALK IN THE WOODS though.
